Born and raised in Toronto, Dyan completed her Juris Doctorate at UBC in 1991 after receiving her BA in psychology from York University. She articled in Vancouver and was called to the bar in 1993. Dyan's private practice began in 1996 and moved to its current location in 2016.
Dyan specializes in family law, child apprehension, family mediation, and civil litigation for sexual assault and abuse. Dyan is also a designated Children's Lawyer (able to act for the interests of underage children without the presence of parents or guardians). Dyan's approach is collaborative and results-oriented, always striving for resolution out of court when and where possible.
Dyan's involvement in the Victoria community includes past participation as a board member of the "Separation Resource Centre"; she has also given talks at various organizations on issues of family law.
Dyan's manner is easy, approachable, and empathetic to the needs of her clients and their particular circumstances, working to make difficult situations less stressful in the process.
